SchoolTry Partners With Unilorin

SchoolTry partners with Unilorin to deploy innovative technology in the university. A recent meeting between the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, and representatives from SchoolTry, an educational technology company, has set the stage for a major transformation at the university. This exciting development promises a fully automated future for Unilorin streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency across various departments.

Focus on Automation

According to Royal News Nigeria, Prof. Egbewole’s vision is clear; eliminate unnecessary physical interaction between students and staff. This initiative will encompass the entire admission process, from post UTME registration to the start of classes. Additionally, automating tasks like result processing and uploading will significantly reduce pressure on staff and expedite operations.

Beyond admissions, the university aims to automate its approval process. This will allow officials to electronically review and sign off on letters before they reach their recipients.

 Benefits of the Partnership

The collaboration with SchoolTry offers Unilorin several advantages;

1. Partnership with other organizations:

The Vice Chancellor lauded the company’s established connections with other prominent organizations. These connections, forged during a visit to Sweden, include the Nigerian Embassy, the Epic Centre (a leading innovation hub), and Karolinska Medical University, boasting a vibrant startup scene. This opens doors for potential future collaborations with other organizations beyond SchoolTry.

2. A Committed Team:

Another positive aspect highlighted by Prof. Egbewole is the team’s composition. He expressed great satisfaction that four out of ten SchoolTry team members, including the CEO, Mr. Eleburuike Ismail, are proud alumni of Unilorin. Mr. Ismail responded enthusiastically, reiterating his company’s unwavering dedication to bringing pride to the university. He elaborated on the project’s challenges, including managing the high online traffic (approximately 50,000 students accessing the portal simultaneously) and ensuring the flawless migration of historical records dating back to 2005. He reassured the university that SchoolTry is fully committed to delivering a seamless portal experience for both students and staff.

3. Collaboration for Success

To ensure the successful implementation of the Vice Chancellor’s vision, SchoolTry is actively engaging with various stakeholders within the university. This collaborative approach paves the way for a highly fruitful partnership that will usher in a new era of automation and efficiency at Unilorin. The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that he is confident that this collaboration would empower the students and staffs aside from effectively managing the portal of the school which is also a great benefit.
