Differences between Artificial and Human Intelligence

The human and artificial intelligence is one of most trending topic in tech today. Several articles has been written on the Differences between Artificial and Human Intelligence. And in this article, you will learn more on it. So let’s dive in.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of  machines as opposed to the intelligence of humans or animals. It is the subject of a field in computer science. In addition, it  develops and studies intelligent machines. The term AI may also refer to the intelligent machines themselves.

AI technology is widely used throughout industry, government and science. Some high-profile applications are: web search engines (e.g., Google search, (used by Youtube Amazon and Netflix understanding human speech (such as Google assistant, Siri and Alexa.

Artificial intelligence was as an academic discipline in 1956. However The field went through multiple cycles of optimism by disappointment and loss of funding, but after 2012, when deep learning became available. There was room for all the previous AI techniques. Also, there was a vast increase in funding and interest.

The various sub-fields of AI research are usually around particular goals and the use of particular tools. The traditional goals of AI research include reasoning, knowledge representation, planning, learning, natural language processing, perception, and support for robotics general intelligence the ability to complete any task performable by a human) is among the field’s long-term goals. To solve these problems, AI researchers have adapted and integrated a wide range of problem-solving techniques, including search and formal logic methods.

What is Human Intelligence?

Human intelligence is the intellectual capability of humans, which is mostly by complex feats and high levels of motivation and self- awareness. Using their  intelligence. humans are able to learn, form concepts, understand, and apply logic and reason. Human intelligence is also thought to encompass our capacities to plan, innovate, solve problems, make decisions and use language to communicate.

There are conflicting ideas about how intelligence should be conceptualized and measured. In psychometric human intelligence is commonly by intelligence quotient (IQ) tests, although the validity of these tests is in Several subcategories of intelligence, such as emotional intelligence and social intelligence, these represent distinct forms of intelligence.

There is also ongoing debate regarding how an individual’s level of intelligence is formed, ranging from the idea that intelligence is fixed at birth to the idea that it is malleable and can change depending on a person’s mindset and efforts.

Differences between Artificial and Human Intelligence

01. Analog and Digital:

The human intelligence is analogous in nature while the Artificial Intelligence is Digital in nature. Moreover artificial intelligence is a  digital assistant, while Human intelligence, however has a completely different style. Which makes it more complex and not as programmable as artificial intelligence.

02. Time Saving:

A major difference between the artificial and human intelligence is that the artificial intelligence saves time. Also, actions or tasks that requires human intelligence to carry out in days they tend to carry it out within a few hours, minutes or sometimes seconds.

03. Saves Energy and Data:

Statistics shows that when comparing the artificial and human intelligence. The human brain uses about 25 watts of energy while a typical artificial intelligence machine uses barely 2 watts of energy. This clearly shows that artificial intelligence saves energy and data.

Conclusion

In a world where intelligence is very important , the differences between artificial and human intelligence comes as a beneficial concept. While artificial intelligence has a lot of advantages it can never be the same as the human intelligence.

Although the  future of both forms of intelligence will depend on how users make use of it. However, The human intelligence will always be different from artificial intelligence.
